    江戸型染作家

    1967年 東京神田生まれ

    1994年 東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科デザイン専攻修了。
        染色家 西耕三郎氏に師事、江戸文化、型染を学ぶ

    1997年 「小倉染色図案工房」として独立。
        浴衣、手拭い、下駄鼻緒、暖簾など様々な型染作品の企画、制作。
        図案、型彫り、染めまでほぼ一貫しておこなう。

  • Mitsuko Ogura

    Edo-style stencil dyeing artist.

    Born in Kanda, Tokyo, in 1967.

    Completed a major course in design at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts in 1994.

    Studied Edo culture and stencil dyeing from dyeing artist Kozaburo Nishi.

    Became an independent artist by setting up the Ogura Senshoku Zuan Kobo (Ogura Dyeing and Designing Studio) in 1997.

    Planned and produced many types of stencil dyeing works, such as yukata, tenugui (traditional Japanese hand towels), geta hanao (traditional Japanese clog thongs) and noren (traditional Japanese split shop curtains).

    Performs virtually every process involved in stencil dyeing, such as designing, dye sinking and dyeing, herself.
