賞を出す時にはバランスも考えていきます。
この作品は強烈な作品で印象に残っている。
大賞を選んでいく中で自然に少しパンクっぽい作品も入れたいという中で落ち着いていきました。
最初は何だろう？という印象だったが、東京の人間の多様性を描いた作品で、5人並んでいる様子は大胆だと感じました。
入賞作品が同じ方向性を持っているとアワードとしてはアピールしやすいかもしれないが、東京にある多様性というものは現在の東京に確実に存在しているなと感じ、それを一枚の作品でうまく表現していると感じ選定させて頂きました。

学生時代に油絵を始めたのをきっかけに絵の世界に魅了され、アクリルを使用した抽象画をメインに手描きで創作活動を続けている。
現在はイラストと並行してアニメーション制作に携わっている。
東京を歩けば必ずと言っていいほど外国の人に出会います。
飛び交っている言語も様々です。そこで国際都市として世界各国の人々が生活をしている
インターナショナルな東京を表現してみました。

I also consider balance when I award prizes.
This work left an intense impression on my mind.
I naturally settled on it when selecting the grand prix works since I wanted to include works with something of a punk taste. I first wondered what this work is all about, but soon realized it depicts the diversity of people living in Tokyo, and thought the composition with the row of five people was daring.
If all the prize-winning works had a similar tendency, it might be easier to promote the attraction of the awards. But I am also aware of the diversity that certainly is found in today’s Tokyo; so I selected this work that skillfully and fully portrays the situation.
A fascination with the world of painting began after starting oil painting in college. Creative activities currently include painting by hand, mainly abstracts using acrylics.
Currently involved in producing both illustration and animation works.
I nearly always encounter foreigners when walking through Tokyo.
There are always various languages flying around. People from all around the world live in Tokyo as a global city.
In my work, I have tried to express this international Tokyo.
